Defending World Champion Alexander Roncevic and the most recent Major winner Dylan Scott will not be making the trip to Glasgow. The only other athlete who received an invite and will not be attending is Rylan Schadegg. All three of these men have already qualified for the World Championships in Chicago.

What is on the line?

This is the penultimate opportunity to qualify for the World Championships in Chicago. If you do not grab a spot here, the only other opportunity is the Last Chance Qualifier in Barcelona this April. Podium spots also receive $7500/$5000/$3500 with smaller payments continuing through 15th place.

How do you qualify?

This race has 6 athletes who have already qualified for WC. This means 9 athletes are fighting for 3 spots. The first 3 athletes to cross the line who are not in bold in the list above will get the spots. This also means that as low as 9th place could walk away with a WC qualification.

Storylines to Watch:

  • After a thrilling second-place finish in Nice, Michael Sandbach has only competed in one Major (Hong Kong), where he DNFed. Outside of that, he has not competed in a solo HYROX yet this season. He has the talent, but can he put it all together to get a spot?
  • After some impressive early season performances, Sean Noble’s stock was riding high going into the Las Vegas Major. However, after making the trip from Ireland, he suffered a devastating ankle injury the night before the race. Following an accelerated recovery, he accepted the spot for Glasgow, and we will now get to see the debut of the Irishman,
  • Jake Dearden, Jon Wynn and Rich Ryan were the closest in position to qualify in Las Vegas and are early favorites to grab a spot.
  • It has been well over a year since Hunter Mcintyre won an Elite race. Will he be able to end the drought and get some momentum heading into Chicago?
