Phoenix on Deck 🏜️
After a quick holiday sojourn, we’re back and already gearing up for the next Major of the HYROX season.
Although there was only one weekend of racing after Melbourne, we’ve already seen a lot of shifting in the Elite standings since the Melbourne line ups were finalized. Here are some notable names and teams likely making their first Major appearance of the season in Phoenix:
🔥 Men's Field Highlights
- Luke Greer – HYROX’s British Record holder (54:38) did it mostly off his running speed. (14:16 PR in the 5K!). He claims he will be the first to the Ski so look out for him early.
- Louis Osselaer – Climbed the ranks steadily, dropping a 54:48 in London and 55:30 in Ghent on back-to-back weekends to lock in an Elite 15 spot.
💪 Women’s Field Highlights
- Meg Jacoby – No intro needed. After taking second in Amsterdam in fall 2024 and returning from a back injury with a 58:09 in Stuttgart, she’s once again racing among the Elite.
- Charlie Searle – Her 61:21 in London vaulted her to 17th. She’ll need a roll down to get in, but has a real shot.
🧠 Men’s Doubles Teams to Watch
- Marc Dean & Alan Cao – Just before Dean’s Melbourne Major debut, they ran 49:10 in London — 4th fastest ever.
- Richlayo – World Record holders haven’t raced since Miami. Will they reunite in Phoenix?
- Jake Williamson & Hunter McIntyre – After a failed world record attempt in Dallas, they're going again. But what does that mean for the Williamson/Ploj team?
- Gustav Cordua & Sebastian Ifversen – Denmark’s finest. A 49:37 in their debut together puts them squarely in the conversation.
- Stephen Pelkofer & Dylan Scott – One of the few Elite teams who live and train together. Could be a major factor.
- Ryan Douglas & Jack Driscoll – Both peaked with a 1–2 finish and PRs in Vancouver. Can that momentum carry into the Doubles field?
🚺 Women’s Doubles Teams to Watch
- Lauren Weeks & Vivian Tafuto – Weeks had to find a new partner after qualifying with Griffith... and found Tafuto. A new world record was the result. Can they now earn a ticket to Stockholm?
- Linda Meier & Meg Jacoby – Unconfirmed if they’ll race together in Phoenix, but a 55:25 in Stuttgart says the spot is theirs if they want it.
- Kat Fahsbender & Morgan Schulz – After just missing out on Elite 15 individual slots, they teamed up for a 55:56 in Dallas. Now hunting a spot on home turf.
